Manta restaurant at Cocoon Maldives has been named the best Luxury Resort Restaurant in Indian Ocean.
The continental award was presented to the resort at the 2018 World Luxury Restaurant Awards Gala held at the Galgorm Resort and Spa on July 14.
Manta restaurant is a short walk away from the resort’s water villas and beach villas located on the southern end. Guests are treated with views that can only be deemed as pure grandeur along with a wide array of fine dining dishes ranging from different cuisines and a wine collection from throughout the world.
The contemporary interior has been designed by renowned Italian designer LAGO, providing a dazzling backdrop for an exquisite meal. The restaurant can serve 29 guests simultaneously and still maintain the perfect and comforting atmosphere that it is acclaimed for.
Cocoon Maldives, located in Ookolhufinolhu Island in the northern Lhaviyani atoll, blends the best of Italian design with the Maldives’ stunning natural beauty. The five-star resort, which officially opened in March, houses 150 villas that are exclusively designed by Lago, one of Italy’s finest design firms.
The resort, accessible by a 40-minute scenic seaplane flight from the main Velana International Airport, features three restaurants and two bars offering a variety of cuisines from around the world and romantic dining experiences.
The Cube Spa at Cocoon Maldives, meanwhile, is located in the heart of the island to ensure maximum privacy and intimacy, and offers variety of relaxing and rejuvenating treatments with qualified masseurs from Bali.
With more than 100,000 votes cast for over 1,000 entrants in 78 categories, the World Luxury Restaurant Awards recognise restaurants across the globe for their culinary excellence and memorable experiences, as well as assessing the quality of the atmosphere and service. The awards aim to provide luxury restaurants with increased recognition as well as introduce them to potential new guests, both local and international. Votes come from both guests and industry experts, thus providing a balanced and unbiased outcome based on the food experience as a whole.
