Shangri-la, Taj's "Warmer Welcomes" alliance named best loyalty partnership



Groundbreaking hotel loyalty alliance launched by Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris last year has been named “Best Loyalty Partnership” at Flightglobal’s 10th Loyalty Awards.

The award, judged by a panel of leading loyalty management specialists, highlights the unique guest proposition offered by the “Warmer Welcomes” hospitality alliance, which allows Shangri-La’s Golden Circle and Taj’s InnerCircle members to earn and redeem their preferred loyalty currency at the more than 200 hotels managed by the iconic hotel groups. The award also recognises the commercial benefits generated by the partnership for the brand partners.

“It’s an incredible honour to have ‘Warmer Welcomes’ recognised by Flightglobal,” said Shangri-La’s Vice President Loyalty and Partner Marketing Wee Kee Ng was quoted in a statement, as saying.

“By merging global strategies, Shangri-La and Taj are able to offer over six million loyalty members new experiences and the benefits most important to them, while in the care of any of our hotels in over 131 destinations.”

“We sincerely appreciate the recognition and encouragement that this award has given to our team,” Ryan Pais, Associate Vice President for Customer Relationship Management at Taj Hotels, said.

“Warmer Welcomes has helped drive deeper engagement with our valuable guests by providing them with seamless benefits and opportunities to earn and redeem points across our iconic hotels.”

Flightglobal, founded in 1996 and based in Toulouse/France, is a leading independent management company that monitors all 200+ frequent flyer programmes in the travel industry.

Established in 1903, Taj is one of Asia’s largest and finest group of hotels, comprising 99 hotels in 61 locations across the globe, including presence in India, North America, United Kingdom, Africa, Middle East, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bhutan and Nepal.

In the Maldives, Taj runs two resorts: Taj Exotica Resort and Spa Maldives, and Vivanta by Taj – Coral Reef Maldives. Hong Kong-based Shangri-La runs the Villingili Resort and Spa in the southernmost Addu atoll and Hotel Jen in capital Male.
