Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas has unveiled its overwater observatory and bar, SKY.
The relaunched SKY allows guests to drink in the atmosphere under a starry night sky as the night unfolds, while experiencing a stargazing session with the SKY Guru through Maldives’ most powerful overwater observatory.
Anantara Kihavah’s in-house Astronomer Ali Shameem will guide guests through the secrets of the stars and constellations. With little light pollution around this private island resort, guests will be rewarded with dramatic views of the planets and moons on perfect display.
“Through my love for storytelling, I find that the most rewarding part of what I do is my ability to share my discoveries with guests and to inspire them into appreciating the heavens as much as I do,” SKY Guru Shameem said.
Scheduled weekly stargazing sessions, which costs USD 95++ per person including a glass of champagne, take place on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7-8pm. Each session is limited to eight people.
Couples can book private stargazing sessions for USD 250++ per couple, including a bottle of champagne. A special Honeymoon Stargazing option, which costs USD 450++ per couple, allows honeymooners to name a star after their loved one as an infinite gift and toast champagne to an extraordinary night of illuminating romance.
Anantara Kihavah is also offering three specialised Time and Wonder Packages, which combine stargazing with other signature experiences offered by the resort. All three packages are for minimum three nights stay, and covers roundtrip seaplane transfers and accommodation on half-board basis.
Additionally, the Stars and SKY package includes private stargazing with the SKY Guru, slumber guru massage experience and cinema under the stars, while the Sea and SKY package comes with private stargazing with the SKY Guru, four-course gourmet lunch at SEA underwater restaurant and guided house-reef snorkelling. The Spa and SKY package offers private stargazing with the SKY Guru, a 60-minute Anantara signature spa treatment, wellness consultation and private sunset yoga.
Anantara Kihavah is just 35 minutes by seaplane from the main Velana International Airport. Following the scenic flight, guests arrive to a picture-perfect setting surrounded by the jewel-coloured waters and uninhabited islands of the majestic Indian Ocean.
Comprising 74 one-bedroom villas, four two-bedroom residences and a three-bedroom residence, each hideaway boasts large personal infinity-edge pools, dining pavilions, expansive wooden sundecks and ample lounging areas complete with swinging daybeds, hammocks and sun loungers. All villas feature his and hers walk-in wardrobes, rain showers, outdoor showers and over-sized bathtubs big enough for two. Sunken glass bottom bathtubs in the over water villas offer a mesmerising view of the sparkling ocean, both below and beyond the adjacent infinity-edge pool.
