From Russia With Love

Journalists from leading internet news portals from Russia and CIS markets recently concluded a familiarization trip to the Maldives. It was organised by the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).

This trip will enable more exposure for the Maldives in Russia and CIS countries. The visiting journalists spent 11 days researching and relaxing in the Maldives.

During the familiarization trip the journalists from Russia and CIS countries explored various aspects and qualities of the tourism industry. They were treated to the perfect white sandy beaches and luxurious lifestyle prevailing in Maldivian resorts. Additionally the journalists spent time with the locals to get a taste of the local culture.

The visiting journalists were from Travel Russian News, Trip-point.ru, Sobesednik, Tourbusiness, and a well-known blogger, Krivov Dmitrii. Maldives PR Representative for Russia and CIS Markets, Ms. Daria Chernyak from Prime Developments, also accompanied them on the tour.

During their stay the journalists were hosted by Atmosphere Kanifushi, Meeru Island Resort & Spa, and Lux Maldives.

In the coming days, it is expected that stories about their visit to the Maldives will be circulated in various media outlets of Russia and CIS countries.

Russia is one of the leading contributors to the Maldives tourism industry annually. Accordingly Maldives registered a total of 66,308 tourists from Russia in 2014. By the end of February of this year, 8,672 tourists from Russia have already visited the Maldives.
